My wife and I just moved back home to OC after a 3 year absence. Our new favorite restaurant is Captain's Table. Don't be fooled since it is located in the CourtYard by Marriott hotel this place is not your typical hotel restaurant, it is fresh and fabulous. . Seafood is fantastic and fresh, I have rarely seen lumps of crabmeat so huge. Crab meat guacamole is a must as well as smoked salmon mash potatoes. They have a great pan seared chicken and steaks too. The staff is friendly and attentive. My compliments to the Chef and there kitchens staff for a job well done. We will be back again and again.

Best asian wings we have ever had. Good, fast service and reasonable prices. Would definitely go back

My party of 9 had dinner at the Captain's Table and we were all very satisfied with our meals and the service. All of the seafood was very fresh. Portions were generous. The live pianist added to the ambiance without being intrusive. I'll be back.

Had dinner here at the recommendation of a local friend. The restaurant is located on the ocean side of the Main Street in the Marriott hotel. There was a man playing the piano as we entered the restaurant. It was lovely music and we enjoyed that very much. We were sat at a table and within a couple minutes were greeted by our waiter Keith. He was very friendly and explained the specials and the menu to us. My meal began with oysters on the half shell. Not bad, but a bit gritty, so I was a bit disappointed there. For meal I ordered Blackened Tuna with buerre blanc, a fresh lump crabcake, a baked potato and Caesar salad. All were delicious and a nice portion. The homemade tarter sauce was very good and a nice change from the standard. My dinner companions had the Macadamia encrusted Halibut which she said was everything she had hoped for. Dinner companion 2 had Blackened Salmon with a lump crab cake. The salmon portion was a bit on the small side in comparison to the 2 other fish dishes, but nonetheless was tasty and well prepared. All in all a very good experience. Our waiter Keith was excellent and had a sense of humor, the piano player was an unexpected treat, and the entrees were great. 4 stars mainly for the gritty oysters and a couple smaller things. Just an observation/suggestion: the silk or plastic flowers on the tables are tacky and cheap looking. Tables would be so much nicer with nothing or a single fresh flower.

This place was quaint, I really enjoyed the live piano music and the waiter was very attentive. For those reasons I give this place 4 stars. I ordered the chicken and shrimp garlic entree. I requested no panko breading on my chicken the waiter had to ask the chef and he obliged. The garlic sauce was very good, the sauteed spinach was perfect, the shrimp not so good it had a very bad taste. My darling co diner had the 16oz Rib eye steak, he gave me a small taste of this awesome steak and It was delish (Thank you ). My go to drink was a margarita and the first one needed more tequila power. I'm from NYC queens !!!We like a good margarita lol. So my awesome waiter made sure the second one was perfect... I miss NYC!!!!

Wonderful dining experience, albeit not much of a view. Apparently all the ocean views are sucked up by the rooms, and the restaurant had none. But the service and food were delightful and the live piano music, fabulous! Only gripe (besides view) was the dessert. ..if you offer key lime pie on the menu, PLEASE don't serve an obviously frozen, cheesecake-like concoction with a huge dollop of mediocre whipped cream! Instead, try a REAL key lime pie with a twist of lime and a small dollop of REAL cream. Okay? Thank you! We had a great time and look forward to hearing that beautiful piano again!

Hidden Gem !, Very affordable, large portions, inexpensive kids food and cocktails ! Family owned inside the Marriott Hotel...Highly recommended for dinner and breakfast was also good . Pardon any typos this is a voice text ...We were staying at the Marriott on 15th street, we were tired and decided to eat at the Captains Table Restaurant in the hotel. We have been to several other great restaurants on the island this week but this was the best dinner we had hands down! We had our two kids with us and asked that their food come out with the appetizers.. they had chicken fingers and pasta (priced right for kids), and we had "Crab Guacamole", this is not at all what you would think. My wife wanted it and all I thought was ...NO, ...The waiter than gave us a soft sell talking us into it and I agreed, it was awesome!!! I can't explain it that well because they would not tell me the ingredients but basically I can tell you that it was sautéed chopped jalapeños onions garlic, tossed with house roasted fresh tomatoes giant pieces of fresh jumbo lump crab meat and diced fresh avocado, this is all served warm with some seasonings and fresh cilantro and Possibly a splash of white wine? It was a generous portion with a generous portion of very thin crispy warm fried to order corn tortilla chips, we could have each ordered a bowl of this and been good for the night but it didn't stop here. Did I mention that they have a live piano player? The kids have been going up to him and requesting music, goodtimes! For dinner my wife and I both ordered halibut but cooked two separate ways. Out of the many ways they offered to cook the fish I ordered mine macadamia nut crusted with lemon burre blanc and wife with crab meat and garlic bread crumbs with lemon burre blanc. We will post the pictures after writing this review. There were several other options for how you can get your fish cooked one of them including to be topped with the crab guacamole which also would've been awesome on this fresh halibut. I had not had any bad fish in Ocean City and I was a little bit skeptical to order halibut being that it is not fished in this area, plus the fact that I keep thinking that I am eating in a hotel restaurant , they did not disappoint and this was the best freshest halibut I have ever had anywhere. (did I tell you that I am very picky and I know my food very well? :)) OK, so the halibut crusted with macadamia nuts fell just short of perfect only because a few bites of the macadamia nuts tasted a little off, so I pushed the rest of the crust off the top and ate the delicious fish and the butter sauce with the basmati rice that was cooked perfectly. Both pieces of halibut well very generous and size, the garlic bread crumb and crabmeat crusted halibut was also phenomenal, Fish cooked to perfection in and plenty of crab topping with garlicky crispy bread crumbs and a few more of those house roasted tomatoes thrown in with plenty of lemon butter sauce on the plate to bring it all together. We were so full we could not finish our entrées, all portions were generous and size, the food was priced more than fair for the portion, the service was excellent, our only regret is that we did not eat here the first night that we arrived because we would definitely have eaten here more than once! We had asked the waiter (good service here) if the chef would come out because we wanted to know some of his secrets and he said that the chef does not come out so we told him to thank the chef for us he said that this restaurant has been in one family for three generations and way before the Marriott had been built. Next visit to OC we will be back!

You can't ask for more. From The soup to lobster tails to the crab cakes to the sides. I mean everything was top notch. Capped off with the live piano player and tvs in the bar to catch the game ... Perfection. Amazing food in a great place. Can't beat it and I've been coming to OC for 30+ years.
(5)Lindsey D.
Food was excellent. Service was impeccable. Atmosphere was great. For appetizers definitely get the crab dip it was to-die-for! For dinner I chose the crab ravioli in vodka sauce special with a side of smoked salmon mashed potatoes. My mouth is literally watering writing this review and remembering how delicious the meal was. The portions were perfect sizes and I definitely left completely satisfied. Keith was our server and he was great! Extremely personable and attentive and answered any questions we had about the menu. I loved this restaurant and would definitely come back again during my next trip to Ocean City!
(5)Mike K.
We really enjoyed The Captain's Table. We met the Captain at the bar, and we was a cool guy, and old fisherman who showed us a picture of a Tuna he had caught and knew about local fishing. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. I don't give 5 stars unless the place is among the best in the genre, imo but this place is excellent. Recommended.
(4)Torrie A.
Stayed at the hotel for Memorial Day weekend and came to this restaurant for drinks and appetizers. The crab/avocado appetizer. WOW. amazing!! They had a piano player while we were there too which definitely was an added bonus!! Bartenders were super attentive and friendly!
(5)Happy H.
It was okay but definitely not worth the price. All the seafood was soaked in butter and the rib-eye was over seasoned with too much salt. Salt!?? Why salt on a steak? If a steak is any good, it wouldn't need salt, which makes me think they are covering up the seafood with the butter. I think this is the first place I ever got a pre-salted steak. Dont get me wrong, the food was still okay and the atmosphere was nice. Service was a little slow, not by the waiter, but just from waiting on food. Dinner for 2 was $92. Ouch - freakin - ola!
(3)Mitch G.
A nice surprise at the beach. No wait. Seared tuna appetizer with seaweed, wow. Abundant and flavorful. Cooked to perfection. Shared a crab cake appetizer moist and delish. Topped dinner off with a perfectly broiled lobster tail. Very accommodating towards children.
(5)Robert R.
I think the food is best in the area. I have gone to OC for many years and it may sound odd to say a hotel "really has good food" but this one does! I have had breakfast and dinner at this restaurant. Both have been very good. For dinner I have order both steak and seafood and both were very good. I just was here in April and they offer good Early Bird Specials.
(5)Caroline R.
Yummy yummy yummy! We sat at the bar because the hostess kept answering phone calls when she had a line of people. The bartender Jimmy was very friendly and fun to be around. He explained everything in detail and gave us some great recommendations. The ahi tuna appetizer was very good and my family loved the wedge salad. I had the 1/2 chicken which is what you can expect but I enjoyed it. My finance ordered the crab cakes and they were some of the best I've ever had! Make sure to order broiled and you won't be disappointed. Not to mention they have salmon mashed potatoes!!!!!!! Sounds a little crazy but so so good, definitely need to try! I am allergic to dairy and the chef made my 1st meal with butter by accent. Jimmy explained the mistake and had the chef remake the dish for me. This did take quite awhile and I was pretty hungry to say the least but am glad they were honest and remade it for me. Good place for good food and decent drink specials! Looks like they might have a piano player on the weekends too.

This is a local, family owned restaurant but is located on the 3rd floor of the Marriott Hotel on 15th Street. We got here at 5:00 p.m. right when they opened & were seated right away. Bonnie came right over & took our drink order. I knew before I went that I was getting the Filet Mignon. My husband had the Crab Cakes. Both were wonderfully tasty. No filler (or shell) in the crab cakes. Steak was tender and the flavor paired with the balsamic and onion sauce was divine. It was cooked perfectly medium. My husband decided that he wants to come back later in the week for his birthday dinner. Be sure to come early to avoid a wait. It was a very pleasant meal and the coffee is really good here too.

On our first night in OC we decided to treat ourselves to a nice meal. Read the reviews here and decided to try it. The experience was mixed at best. Located in the Marriott Courtyard was,a bit strange, but the room was quite lively, if not much of a view. There was a piano player who was EXCELLENT! !! He truly made it a special experience. Our waitress was very poor. When we first sat down we ordered wine and asked for water. The wine came, asked again for water. 20 minutes later the waitress brought the water with the excuse that she couldn't figure out why she couldn't remember our water.. Sigh. My wife ordered a scallop special for an appetizer and I ordered a salad..with Fiji apples, candied pecans etc. However my wife's app came and 5 minutes later my salad came. While it was delicious I would have enjoyed eating it with my wife. Her dinner was a scallop and crabmeat dinner. It was served with delicious green beans and salmon mashed potatoes. She loved it! I had duck and mashed potatoes. The raspberry demi glaze was outstanding. After dinner the waitress asked if we wanted coffee and dessert. We had no idea what they had . She said she forgot to bring the dessert menu. I did have a great key lime pie and my wife had a multi berry pie. Again a winner. The meal was definitely a 5 star experience but the waitress was a dismal 1 star. If I wasn't on vacation I would have made a big stink, but I just reflected my dissatisfaction where it mattered.

My wife and I went here to celebrate my birthday while staying at this hotel. It's a classic Resturant but the environment is very stiff and more conducive to a senior facility. Food was good and service was as well. I would recommend only to an older crowd because this place needs to be more welcoming to diversity.
(2)Jason K.
Really fantastic place in the Marriott. Perfect meal, wonderful bartender jimmy. Had the halibut and my fate had the salmon. Both fish were a little over cooked and under seasoned but the sauce and sides were amazing. Jimmy gave us specific suggestions that were spot on and really couldn't go wrong.
(4)Carolyn Keegan D.
Excellent, fresh food. Seafood scampi cooked to perfection. Huge salad with entrees. Very attentive staff.
(5)Wendy H.
It was our first time here. We had Keith as a waiter and he was excellent. Everything was amazing from the live piano music to the food. I got the fresh catch of the day - halibut . I got it with the crab guacamole. My husband got blackened tuna. We got steamed littnecks for an app. The clams were incredible. They came in a delicious garlicky broth served with a warm loaf of bread for sopping up every delectable drop. Both our dinners were beyond expectation. We have eaten at a lot of seafood places in many high end resorts and this was among the very best!
(5)Adonna T.
Absolutely love the lump crab cakes!!
(5)Jenifer S.
We'd eaten here once before and knew it would be good as we wanted somewhere special that wasn't an all-u-can eat stuff-your-face-with-fried-food place like many of the eating establishments in Ocean City, Md. This one is classier and although it's hidden upstairs on the 3rd floor of the Marriott Hotel, it has a sophistication that others on the boardwalk don't have. The decor is modern but not trendy and the few windows only have a view onto the abutting hotels (e.g. Harrison Hall). Not only was there a fantastic pianist playing top tunes (everyone clapped periodically) but the food was cooked the way we wanted (steak medium well done and caprisi salad served as an entree) and the service was prompt and friendly and helpful. And they know how to make a martini! Since it was hubster's birthday, they did a special brownie with cream on top and a candle and sang Happy Birday to him (the staff did not all come out and crowd around the table, thank goodness). The only weakness is probably with vegetables -- the sweet potatoes were probably baked too long (but nevertheless very edible) and the salad wasn't particularly interesting, although fresh and a big enough portion. I'm giving this place 5 stars due to the outstanding pianist, the overall atmosphere, the type of food served and the efficient service (and in comparison with other Ocean City MD restaurants). And it's wheelchair accessible (elevator from ground floor to third).
(5)Susan K.
Keep in mind the Marriott is a complete and separate entity (in which you could not pay me to stay....again, ever!) The restaurant however, is privately owned and operated. The menu is classic Md fare, including fresh fish of the day. Salads are huge and could suffice as dinner entrees. Green beans were steamed to perfection. Scallops were lacking in a good sear. Desserts are out sourced yet tasty. No apologies for the lackluster service....which was reflected in her "gratuity."

This once was a standalone restaurant and is still family owned and operated which is good and bad in my experience. The bad part is service and food prep. are uneven. In my case, the waitress, though very nice, looked like she had a few miles under her shoes and was distracted, so did not write down my order, which was quite simple: entree and a la carte salad. Well, the entree made it, but the salad did not. It was just as well as I was filled by time I finished healthy portion of rice that came with my encrusted halibut steak over bed of rice, accompanied by fresh green beans, oh, wait, no more green beans, so that was asparagus, which I considered an upgrade. The requisite iced water had strong chemical taste; I've been drinking bottled water since I got to O.C., so, perhaps, this is city water, if so, a filtered water would be better as this strongly influenced taste of the food. The waitress seemed to go on vacay and then would appear again with entree (forgotten salad) and the left me in peace, and peace and peace. I got antsy as I likely sat for 30 minutes between finishing entree and being asked for dessert or check. Check, pronto, please! Thankfully, if you're guest of Marriott you can sign charges to your hotel room, thus no waiting for processing and return of your cc. On the bright side, the macadamia encrusted halibut steak and, there are three or four other fresh fish offerings, was simply superb, so that counts, but the rest of the affair, from execution to rather sleepy service, made for 3-star instead of 4-star review.
(3)Jose R L.
Good food and clean, like the live piano music price was also not bad, would definitely recommend it
(4)M.L B.
The food was good. With one exception. They gave me instant mashed potatoes. A $5 a la carte side...and it was instant mashed potatoes. That aside, the food was decent. I did not get what I ordered though. Ordered the mahi mahi stuffed with crab. I got the fish on a bed of spinach with a few pieces of crab. The flavor was really good. But again..not what I ordered. My wife's dish was good too. She got steak with some kind of onion and cheese topping. Really good. The onion rings were the same I get from the frozen section at Stop and Shop. The "sautéed green beans" tasted like they were from a steamer bag. That aside, the service was wicked slow. Waited about 20 mins for our first drinks. 20 more mins for soup. Soup. Over all, this place does not deserve the four star rating I was mislead by. Three tops. But I'd need a few shots in me to agree to that.
(2)Tyler G.
By far the best food I had on my trip in Ocean city! Their tuna special was amazing and give their crab dip a try! I defiantly will be back! They open later than most other places on the board walk and that saved me and my friends from a night of fast food! Drinks where amazing as well!!!
(5)Amanda B.
Food was delicious. Service was so slow it hurt. Sat down at 545, left at 730. 3 waitresses, only a few tables occupied. Was extremely annoyed and not likely to come back.
(3)Shawna S.
Me and my boyfriend came here this past Friday evening. We heard rave reviews about it from several people so we decided to try it out. We started off with the Caesar salad which was huge, but needed more dressing and the crab bisque which was good and flavorful. I decided to get the scallops and crab meat which was in a lemon white wine sauce. Everything tasted fine but it was nothing too special for the price we paid. My boyfriend got the surf and turf. He said the lobster was cooked fine, but the steak was very tough and not a good cut. Let me remind you that you can get the surf and turf at Ruth Chris for the exact same price as here. I was not impressed at all for ocean city dining. The prices are outrageous and the items on the menu are just average at best. They need to try and get some more exotic flavors on their menu. We did however have breakfast here several times during the summers and it is very good, and not too badly prices. I wouldn't come here again for a dinner service.
(3)Ira D.
We were there for breakfast. The prices were reasonable for the area. The food and service were excellent
(5)Shane N.
Went back to restaurant. Food at dinner still best in oc. Cream of crab even better. Raw oysters were sucked right and fresh. Entries all around were top notch. Place was packed on a non busy. Oc November weekend. We stayed at the courtyard because of the restaurant.
(5)Tom L.
Excellent food and great service! Waitress was attentive and although they were very busy - the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Hot and fresh basket of delicious bread and butter held us over until our meal was served.
(4)PD N.
This restaurant was amazing! By far, the best I've had in Ocean City. My friends and I decided to try this place out because we wanted great seafood that's close by where we were staying (around the boardwalk). Its location surprised us because it's in a hotel and was a bit too fancy for a casual beach trip, however, the food was spectacular. I had some: 1. crab dips-- really good! 2. Raw oysters-- seems to be fresh and yummy, I only had one... 3. Salmon stuffed with imperial crab lumps with suateed spinach-- amazing and stuffed! I had a martini, but it wasn't as great ( too sweet to my taste but I'm sure their other cocktails are good. A set back was their slow services. Our server was extremely nice and patient, but it really took forever for things to arrive. It's possible that it was dinner time, or not..
(4)Mitch S.
Yummy crab guacamole dip.... seafood is decent...Nice hotel restaurant, but go check out some of the other authentic all you can eat Maryland crabs at other places. I am sure there are better ones, but if the lines are too long elsewhere, then this will satisfy the need for seafood..
(4)Brett L.
Located in the Mariott. The atmosphere is very pleasant and easy on the eyes. along with a saxophone player playing softly as we enjoyed our meal. We started off with the creamy jumbo lump crab meat appetizer with a baguette and crackers. Our waitress said it was so good, it would be a meal spoiler. She was right. It was so filling, and we haven't even started our salad and entree yet. We had the salad packed so we could enjoy our two entrees. I got the pan seared, macadamia nut encrusted fresh caught flounder served over scallion infused basmati rice. It was so good. My mother had fresh caught Atlantic fresh salmon served over jumbo lump crab meat and pan seared guacamole. It was fresh made so it wasn't a weird texture. A flavor exposure in your mouth. But we couldn't finish either of our meals, so we had to pack not just the salads but the majority of our entrees. Our waitress was very nice and helpful when choosing what to eat Overall, great restaurant and plan on returning upon our next visit to Ocean City.
(4)Brett C.
The food was amazing. The service was amazing. Piano playing the whole time. Loved it.
(5)Ijiki K.
The best breakfast that we had at ocean city. Considering the quiet waitstaff, I was expecting a little bit of a disappointment. The food, however, was excellent. I got the eggs, over-medium as I like them, with a little bit of bacon and some hash browns. When I first received the bacon and hashbrowns, I thought that the potatoes were odd- instead of being small slivers of potato, they were entire slices. The bacon was cooked well- just a little bit crispy, which made it great. My girlfriend, Natalia, ordered some sausage as well as two eggs and hashbrowns- I tried the sausage and thought the bacon was better. The eggs themselves were great! The eggs were cooked well enough; but not too much. Not only that but the yolks, which I prefer to be slightly runny but not flowing with yellow- were perfect. Getting them over-medium told me that the chef knew his stuff. My girlfriend enjoyed her portion, too. All in all, this has DEFINITELY been the best breakfast restaurant at OC.
(4)Mark K.
Situated on the third floor of the Marriott, the restaurant is a bit difficult to find if you don't know what to look for. There's just a small sign on the boardwalk pointing the way to The Captain's Table. The atmosphere is definitely casual, lots of tourists in shorts and t-shirts. But the service and food make The Captain's Table an upscale gem. It's well-worth the trip. Probably the best overall restaurant in Ocean City. The lobster tails are AMAZING and the filet is perfectly cooked. Do yourself a favor and order a side of the lobster-filled mashed potatoes - You will not regret it. The margaritas and mixed drinks were very well-made and delicious. They definitely do not skimp on the alcohol. The service was friendly and casual. We were sat quickly and the food was brought out in a timely fashion. Next time I'm in Ocean City, this will be the first restaurant I'll bring friends and family to.
(5)Elisabeth E.
I ate here for lunch during the off season and it was nice to find a place that was open! The service was excellent. I never wanted for anything and they gave me several good tips about what I could see in the area during this time of year. There wasn't much of a view, except for other buildings, but the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. I had the Maryland Crab Chowder which was good, lots of lump crab meat and a good broth. For lunch I had the baked brie and tomato sandwich which was good, a little too cheesy, I kinda wished I'd had something to break up all the bites of cheese with like some lettuce or a side of fruit. It was served with potato chips and a pickle. Price was good, definitely worth it. Overall I didn't find the dining (at least for lunch) to be anything too special, but the servers were excellent and made it a pleasant lunch
(3)Phil B.
Captain's Table is a sleeper hit - it sits inside a Marriott Courtyard and begs to be dismissed as just another hotel restaurant. Ignore that gut reaction and head over for delicious seafood. Of course its a bit pricey but probably near market prices. I started off with crab guacomole - which was more so crab cake with pieces of avocado. Still it was great - a lot of crab thrown in and some good seasoning. For the main course I had blackened halibut with crabcake and onion rings (pick a side - plenty of potato options available). The halibut was really fresh and cooked perfectly. With Dogfish 60 on tap, I was all set.
(4)Mari A.
Calamari was great! crab and avocado dip, awesome!
(5)Seul Y.
Food was awesome. Service was not. I waited for so long and the place was nearly empty. I almost wanted to leave and when I asked a server what's taking so long, his answer was "I'm not cooking."
(2)Wil B.
We had high expectations based off the reviews on Yelp. Ill skip the drama and simply put in the problems: My scampi was overcooked. The shrimp was rubber, the scallops were chewy, and the lump crab was dry. Doused in copious amounts of butter seemed to be an attempt to salvage it. My wife's lobster was better but still over cooked and drier than she's used to. They didn't have marinara for my youngest's pata and offered olive oil with garlic and tomatoes or butter. What kid will enjoy garlic and olive oil? He didnt eat a bite. Ladtly my oldest child ordered a burger. We had to return it because on his second bite he found a wire. A two inch long piece of wire! They took the burger of the bill. Now the only goo part of the meal was the appetizers. The bacon wrapped scallops were very good and so was the guacamole with lump crab.
(1)Miss T.
Top notch. It's very hard to find high class service and seafood in OC. Please give this place a try. Chris, I think was our service. My husband and I truly enjoyed our anniversary meal.
(5)Brian G.
The fresh fish was delicious and was offered in many interesting combinations (I had the halibut with guacamole and crab). The menu was creative and the daily specials terrific. The staff was so friendly and accommodating with my two young children even though this isn't a kids restaurant. The decor is pleasant and the restaurant is one of the classiest in Ocean City.
(5)Dereck S.
Best food in OCMD. I went here this past Saturday during memorial day weekend and everything was amazing. Yes the place was packed but we were attended to multiple times before our food came out. We started with the Tuna app and the guacamole crab dip. The crab dip was enough to be a meal it was excellent and the tuna was so fresh it was like it just came out of the water. For dinner we had cakes and steak and the glazed pork chops. Neither one of these were short of amazing either. Everything we had was loaded with flavor and the salmon mashed potatoes were to die for. This is a high quality restaurant in a party city where you can go in and be comfortable. We actually talked to the owner for a while and he was a very intelligent man and had his stuff together. Great experience great times good people.
(5)Adrienna W.
Gave it a 3 because the food was good. Service was terrible and not just because of the language barrier... We were seated after a party of 25 apparently and took 50 minutes to get breakfast after we ordered. When I asked for a manager, he was aloof and couldn't understand why I was upset (my 2 little kids were very fussy by that point.). He didn't get it then stood there looking at me until he took out a free drink coupon, which I didn't use later. Terrible customer service. Bottom line: Decor: 3/5 Food: 4/5 Service:1/5
(2)Joe T.
Ate dinner here on Saturday night and the food, service and overall experience was excellent. Not sure why people had a hard time finding the place, we didn't. Was well worth the slightly higher price. Wife had French Onion Soup I had the creamed crab soup. I had the crab cakes with a squash and onion saute and mash potato, my wife had a seasonal vegetable dish. They had a person playing the piano, all in all it was a great evening.
(5)Shauna G.
For the past three semesters of school, I've been dining here when my parents come to visit me. The atmosphere is nice, the place is clean, it's right by the ocean, and the food is delicious!
(4)Pamela S.
To celebrate my birthday this weekend, my husband and I dined at Captain's Table for the early bird special. He had a key lime margarita and I had had the HRM pinot noir. The fried crab balls and sauce were perfect and not overly cooked or greasy. My husband had fried shrimp and in his understated way, said, "There was nothing wrong with it." High praise from man of few words. I had broiled lobster tail with string beans and they were perfectly cooked and the portions generous. The waitress was attentive and friendly.

I rarely give all 5 stars but this food was so scrumptious it deserves it. Service was a tad bit on the slow side but the food made up for it. Everything was good. The bread was delicious and we all enjoyed our meals. Made a reservation for 10 and they were ready for us when we got there and we were seated immediately. Can't wait to go back there when I visit Ocean City again. If you go to Ocean City, this is a definite place you should go to eat. We all got something different and all raved about our food choices.

We've been coming to OCMD since the kids were little (25yrs) and vowed to try all new places to eat this time. We tried this one from a personal referral from a friend at work. When 4 adults and 2 kids (us) entered a practically empty joint, we were asked if we had a reservation, when we replied no, the look we got was unmistakable. She must have really searched but we were seated immediately and were seated at a booth. The waitress was very friendly at the greeting and we ordered quickly. The drinks and salad were unremarkable and the bread took forever, try explaining that to a hungry 18 month old. The bread was most excellent so when we asked for more pleased, we felt like Oliver Twist when the reply was "it's made to order" basically telling us we were greedy slobs. When the dinners FINALLY came, the 5 yr olds grilled cheese was toasted bread with unmelted cheese on it. Everyone concurred the fried shrimp or lump crab dish themselves were excellent but the auxiliary items, baked potatoes, green beans etc were mediocre at best. Long cook time, mediocre service to include the hostess, no managers present (which may explain some of these mistakes), pricey, not worth the money. Best things, bread and the piano player!

A party of five of us has been going to The Captain's Table for four years now, and the vegetarian among us wasn't thrilled, the rest of us enjoyed ourselves. When it comes to upscale restaurants, I'm a lamb chops kind of guy and at the captains table that goes double! As usual they were big and delicious, although I skipped the veal demi glace. The steak and cake that a member of our party had was also quite good. Overall I would give it a 5 stars, but if you don't eat meat of seafood you're going to have some trouble.
(5)Teron R.
Really good food. The crab balls brought us in for a 2nd trip during our mini vacation. Good service as well

Loved it! Very nice atmosphere...warm and inviting, with a low/moderate sound level. The food was outstanding across the board. We started with the warm crab guacamole, which was delicious. Big chunks of crab, and fresh avocado, seasoned wonderfully. My wife had the scallops and crab entree. It was lightly seasoned and delicious - the fresh taste of the seafood wasn't overpowered by seasoning. Perfect. I had macadamia-encrusted halibut, which was cooked perfectly and delicious. Others at our table had shrimp and tuna entrees, and they were also very pleased with their food and the way it was prepared. We will definitely be back!

I recently went to Captain's Table with my family. I had been told that the food was very good there. The restaurant is in the Marriott, but it was formerly in the Santa Maria hotel in the same location until that hotel was torn down. I figured that perhaps the restaurant would live up to expectations, given that it had re-opened in the same location. The food itself was much better than average, especially in Ocean City standards. I had a great salad to start, and the steamed clams were awesome. My special tuna entree was prepared just as I'd asked -- seared rare. The tuna was very tasty. Given the food experience alone here, I would have rated the restaurant at 4 stars. But it was the drink experience that ultimately led me to rate them so low, and even to write the review in the first place. My aunt and I tried to order their limoncello cocktail, made with their homemade limoncello. It sounded great, and really, it was the only specialty drink on their menu that didn't sound overly sweet. Unfortunately, the waiter came back to inform us that they were out of the limoncello. We quickly reassessed the menu and chose a runner up. My aunt got a cherry martini that was sickly sweet and very artificial tasting. I chose the "French Kiss," which was made with Ciroc Grape Vodka, Vanilla Vodka, and a splash of cranberry. I thought it sounded like it had potential. Instead, I received an $11 glass of dimetapp cough syrup. At least, that's exactly what it tasted like. Everyone at the table tried it and agreed. I couldn't drink it. It was the worst cocktail I have ever been served in my life. Whatever you do, do not order the French Kiss cocktail at Captain's Table.

The Captain's Table is again open... and is on the 3rd floor of the Courtyard Marriott. Given the lack of nice restaurants in Ocean City - this one really stands out. The food is great with generous portions. while it may be pricey by ocean city standards, it is really affordable given what you get. the downside is the ambiance: no ocean view, no outdoor seating. the tables remind me too much of a hotel restaurant... which it is. if this place had outdoor seating (or at least an ocean view).. it would be perfect.

The new Captain's Table at Ocean City is a convenient addition to the Courtyard Marriott in Ocean City. It is a new, clean nice looking restaurant. My breakfast was convenient, and had nice biscuits. My eggs and bacon were very overcooked, and the service was very slow. If you want an overpriced hotel breakfast with decent food this is the place. It is very convenient if you are staying there though.

best breakfast we found in ocean city. good solid hotel restaurant food. large portion, friendly service, very comfortable. scary wonderful fruit plate.

When to dinner at the Captain's Table and what a very pleasant surprise. We went on a Sunday evening and had the place to ourselves ( it did fill up later). We were greeted by a very courteous and pleasant waitress who looked after us for the rest of the meal. The appetizers were very good.. The meals were even better, they were excellent. The only caution is the meals sizes are quite large and you may be able to share. I would most definitely go back. Try it!

Love their macadamia encrusted halibut or flounder with lemon buerre blanc.

Our family searched for good seafood restaurants in Ocean City and Captains Table came up w/ 4.5 stars...so we decided to give it a shot. We walked in and the ambiance was classy and relaxing. We were seated almost immediately. The menu had many suggestions from the chef (which ALL sounded great). Our table went w/ the cream of crab, the flounder stuffed w/ crab, blackened salmon w/ crusted crab cake, and pan-seared chicken w/ broiled crab cake. We anxiously waited for our food....for 1 hour!!!!!!!!!! Clearly there weren't enough servers, because our server alone serviced tables all over the restaurant. Also there didn't seem to be many chefs in the kitchen because of the wait time. Needless to say we grew impatient and were threatening (amongst ourselves) to walk out if our food wasn't served HOT and as delicious as described. Finally our food was served, and OMG!!!! The food was ALL THAT AND MORE!!!! The food was hot, deliciously seasoned, fish was moist and chicken was crispy. It was TOTALLY worth the wait. Our table agreed that this was the best meal we've had at a restaurant. We totally recommend this restaurant by the sea. Would've given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the wait.
(4)MaryFoodie M.
Delicious food with a reasonable price. Tried "crab melt" on baguette and fried crab sandwich and the taste was right. Crab soup was just okay.
(5)Tom C.
Possibly the best and most consistent restaurant in OCMD. Great crab cakes, rib-eyes and seafood bisque!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!
(5)Wendy K.
Wow! Thank you Yelp for helping me find this gem of a restaurant! The food was fabulous and the staff was great! The crab and guacamole appetizer, cream of crab soup, and all of our meals were amazing! I will definitely recommend this restaurant to all of my friends!

Delicious food! But really high prices. And the service is pretty slow.

Just when I'm about to give up on OC restaurants I come across a gem. We stayed at the Marriott and though I was reluctant to try this restaurant I walked away pleasantly surprised. We started with breakfast which was complimentary with the hotel stay. Nothing too impressive there, just your standard breakfast fare. Then we decided to return for dinner. I tried their crab chowder with a tomato base. Very tender and fresh crabs. It went well with the warm crusty bread they served. I also tried their Chicken with artichoke sauce and my hubbie tried their Halibut. Both were served with a very tender basmati rice and both were delicious. I adore artichokes and loved the dish, the chicken was tender and served with a cream sauce. I'm looking forward to leftovers tomorrow. I think the Chicken dish was around $19 and that included the soup and salad. Not bad at all. Bonnie was our server and was very attentive and friendly. She even went the extra step to provide entertainment to our easily-distracted and at-times-unruly toddler. First she got him crayons and a coloring book, then when his attention span wandered again she brought out the legos. Apparently the restaurant owner also has 2 little girls so the toys came in handy. Thank you Bonnie! It allowed us to enjoy our dinner. If there's any downside to this restaurant it's that it looks like a hotel restaurant. But don't let that fool you, dinner and service are wonderful. Especially on the boardwalk when all you see is the standard hot dog, pizza and burger fare.
(4)Matt M.
Great breakfast for mother's day. Staff and service was awesome. Don't let the fact that it is in a Courtyard by Marriott (which are not known for their restaurants, if they have them) fool you. It's a great find in OC.
(4)Chrystina Z.
Yikes! Not too many restaurants open on the boardwalk for Sun brunch. We just camped at Assateague and were hungover/starving. So perhaps the food wasn't the best, but just tasted delicious under the circumstances. We were also happy to have running water again :) Ordered the tuna melt sandwich (cole slaw on the side was surprisingly crispy and good). The server was friendly, but distracting with those eyebrows.
(3)Joe T.
If I were on death row and asked to order my final meal, I'd order the blackened halibut and pass away in peace.
(5)Monica B.
I love this restaurant. I ate at the bar on a Friday night during the off season. The food was AMAZING and the DRINKS at the bar were really good. I had pan seared salmon topped with crab and stuffed mushrooms with crab!!! It was DELICIOUS!!! I would totally go back again when I return to OC.
(5)Jose R L.
Good food and clean, like the live piano music price was also not bad, would definitely recommend it
Loved it.
(5)Mari A.
Calamari was great! crab and avocado dip, awesome!
(5)Seul Y.
Food was awesome. Service was not. I waited for so long and the place was nearly empty. I almost wanted to leave and when I asked a server what's taking so long, his answer was "I'm not cooking."
(2)SD C.
Love their macadamia encrusted halibut or flounder with lemon buerre blanc.

For the past three semesters of school, I've been dining here when my parents come to visit me. The atmosphere is nice, the place is clean, it's right by the ocean, and the food is delicious!

(5)Miss T.

(4)Wil B.

Stayed at the hotel for Memorial Day weekend and came to this restaurant for drinks and appetizers. The crab/avocado appetizer. WOW. amazing!! They had a piano player while we were there too which definitely was an added bonus!! Bartenders were super attentive and friendly!

Excellent, fresh food. Seafood scampi cooked to perfection. Huge salad with entrees. Very attentive staff.

Absolutely love the lump crab cakes!!

Went back to restaurant. Food at dinner still best in oc. Cream of crab even better. Raw oysters were sucked right and fresh. Entries all around were top notch. Place was packed on a non busy. Oc November weekend. We stayed at the courtyard because of the restaurant.

Excellent food and great service! Waitress was attentive and although they were very busy - the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Hot and fresh basket of delicious bread and butter held us over until our meal was served.

Delicious food with a reasonable price. Tried "crab melt" on baguette and fried crab sandwich and the taste was right. Crab soup was just okay.

Possibly the best and most consistent restaurant in OCMD. Great crab cakes, rib-eyes and seafood bisque!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!

(3)Susan K.

We were there for breakfast. The prices were reasonable for the area. The food and service were excellent

Yummy crab guacamole dip.... seafood is decent...Nice hotel restaurant, but go check out some of the other authentic all you can eat Maryland crabs at other places. I am sure there are better ones, but if the lines are too long elsewhere, then this will satisfy the need for seafood..

Food excellent, unfortunately will never patronize again. Had $62 carry out n they would not honor $10 coupon which clearly read, "$10 off $50". Did not specify eat in only!! They are noted for NOT HONORING COUPONS. Also would not give me bread, said I didn't order it. U don't have to order bread, it comes with meal!!!

Both fish were a little over cooked and under seasoned but the sauce and sides were amazing. Jimmy gave us specific suggestions that were spot on and really couldn't go wrong.

Excellent, fresh food. Seafood scampi cooked to perfection. Huge salad with entrees. Very attentive staff.

Good food and clean, like the live piano music price was also not bad, would definitely recommend it

By far the best food I had on my trip in Ocean city! Their tuna special was amazing and give their crab dip a try! I defiantly will be back! They open later than most other places on the board walk and that saved me and my friends from a night of fast food! Drinks where amazing as well!!!

Food was delicious. Service was so slow it hurt. Sat down at 545, left at 730. 3 waitresses, only a few tables occupied. Was extremely annoyed and not likely to come back.

We were there for breakfast. The prices were reasonable for the area. The food and service were excellent

Yummy crab guacamole dip.... seafood is decent...Nice hotel restaurant, but go check out some of the other authentic all you can eat Maryland crabs at other places. I am sure there are better ones, but if the lines are too long elsewhere, then this will satisfy the need for seafood..
